A New Chapter

Our family is starting a new chapter and now so is our blog. I haven’t blogged in a very long time. Life with four kids, animals, and all of our fun has zapped my desire, and let’s be honest, my time to blog.

But here we go! Restart. Because the craziness is about to get crazier.

We are moving! My dream of moving to the farm is about to come true. I’m going to use my blog to document the befores and afters of it all.

I’m realizing the the Lord has put in me a love for this farm and the farmhouse. He has put the brakes on our living there…until now.  We believe he has a plan. And we are excited to be a part of it.

Today I met with the contractors to begin the first steps of remodeling Big Red. And I’m super excited!

History.

Our farm has been in my family since William Penn gave the Kendig family the land grant. Big Red was built around 1856-1874, I believe. My great, great grandparents (just the two of them) built it and they were the last Kendig family to live in it.

As it stands, it is divided into two apartments. A large part of it is still in original form. Old wallpaper, light fixtures, and unfinished wood floors remain. And so our project begins.

Here are some of the before pictures. She’s a beauty. But she needs a ton of work.
